AkaalTec Ltd, via its websites second-charge.com offers, on a worldwide scale, a wide range of services to our clients. These services include but are not limited to Property advertising, introducing clients to providers of financial services products, legal products and general products.

We do not directly provide any of the products and services we advertise on our websites as we specialise in introducing our clients to high quality product providers who will provide all necessary guidance, advice and service provision direct to our clients, independently of AkaalTec Ltd.

How do we collect your personal information.

The personal information we collect from you is personal information that you provide voluntarily through one of the following methods:

  • By completing an enquiry form contained on our websites
  • By discussion with our staff via meetings, telephone or email.
  • By direct contact with AkaalTec Ltd., using our contact information.
  • By being referred to us by another business, but only where you have given that business your consent to pass us your personal information.

What type of personal information do we collect

Any personal information we collect from you will be voluntarily provided by you personally, or by others who have obtained your permission to pass us your personal information. The personal information we collect from you will be limited and will solely relate to the product or service that you have shown an interest in.     • Property – property types, locations, values, mortgage requirements and insurance requirements. We may also collect details of your current property status, including whether it has been sold or if it is up for sale and whether or not you are in a chain.
    • Financial Services – Type of product, value of product, provider of product, credit rating and product maturity dates. We may also collect details of your financial circumstances to enable us to understand your requirements.
    • Legal services – Type of service, your nationality.
    • Marketing Preferences – Details of your marketing preferences and whether you are happy to receive marketing communications via Email, Telephone, Post or Text Message.
    • Feedback – where you have provided us with feedback on a product or service, or on a product provider, we may record your opinions and any text that you have written.

Due to the diversity of products and services contained on our sites, it is not possible to identify here every separate piece of personal information that we may collect but the above examples should provide a clear indication of the type of personal information that would be required for a particular situation.

Who will we share your personal information with.

Only where it is applicable will we share the information we collect with our partners and product providers. We will only share the minimum information required by a product and or service provider to make an initial assessment of their ability to provide the service you require. Once you have agreed to work with that provider, any personal information required by that provider will be agreed between you and that provider and not conveyed to AkaalTec Ltd.

Where our websites carry access to social networking facilities, which are operated by third parties, who may use or share personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies. Where you access these facilities it is recommended that you review their privacy notices prior to posting personal information.

How we keep your personal information safe

The security of your personal information is of the utmost importance and we are committed to protecting the personal information we process. Access to your personal information is restricted only to those who have a legitimate business need to have it and we will use a variety of technical and organisational measures to safeguard your personal information.

Our IT systems are protected by firewalls and we keep our software updated and supported by anti-virus protections and intrusion detection systems. Information is stored on secure servers, located in the UK and Europe.

How long will we retain your personal information

Your personal information will be deleted when it is no longer reasonably required for the relevant purposes and we are not legally required or otherwise permitted to continue storing such information.

For marketing purposes we base the time we hold information on the level of interaction that we have with you. Where you have not been in recent contact with us and we are no longer required to hold your information, usually a period of between 5 and 7 years, then we may remove your information from our registers.

Cookies and Personal Information that is collected automatically:
